CAI has partnered with Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary in North Omaha to help provide mentorship and support to the kids who attend school there. The community around King Elementary is closely-knit, but it does not have the financial support necessary to give the kids all that they could want and need. CAI volunteers hope to provide an environment where the kids can dream and grow as they grow. Ninety-seven percent of the student body receives free lunch, and over 50% do not even have backpacks, but this does not stop them from coming to school with a positive attitude ready to learn all that they can. These kids are bright, creative, and talented, and deserve all the opportunists that the world has to offer. It truly is an honor the CAI has the opportunity to work with them.
CAI has the pleasure of working with the Mountain View School for the rural poor, a small facility in Tamil Nadu, India founded in 2015. The school educates more than a hundred children in preschool, first grade, and second grade through fun-learning activity-based education. At CAI, we were inspired by the generosity of the founders of the school, Jesse Tincher and his wife Susanna Tincher, who have spent the past 12 years helping areas of India with tsunami relief and working against female infanticide. Seeing their great work, we wanted to help. The school's biggest goal is to expand its building and hire more teachers in an effort to serve even more children, and we want to help. Our goal is to raise funds for Mountain View so that they can build more classrooms, train more teachers, buy more supplies, and continue their great work.
